Of course, you want your womens wallet to be practical, with easy-to-reach spots for credit cards, photos, drivers’ license and money. However, that does not mean is has to be bulky and unwieldy. Today’s ladies wallets fit more than your “stuff,” they fit your lifestyle — keeping vital items neatly organized while looking great at the same time.

Choosing Your Wallet Wardrobe

Just as you have more than one pair of shoes and one handbag, you may want several wallets to suit different needs. For instance, if you are a girl on the go, you may want to consider travel wallets for women. Travel wallets often include special places for passports, ticket and boarding passes — allowing you to find documents when you need them. If you like to keep everything in your wallet, including business cards, coupons and shopping lists, opt for a wallet that includes a place for a note pad and a checkbook, extra credit card “slots” and zipped compartments for loose change and the like. For evenings out, you may want an ultra-slim ladies’ wallet that holds just the essentials and will slip into an elegant handbag. Do remember that changing articles back and forth between wallets can be tricky, so first choose an everyday wallet, and then add one or two that you will need for specific occasions.

What is Your Wallet Budget?

Like anything else, wallets run the gamut when it comes to price. A butter-soft ladies leather wallet from Coach, Fendi or Gucci will cost in the hundreds. At the other end, you can pick up an inexpensive but utilitarian wallet from Wal-Mart, Target or Sears — and online shoppers know how to find bargains on designer look-alikes. There are plenty of beautiful, well-constructed wallets in the mid-price range as well. A Buxton wallet, for instance, generally runs under $25, while Guess wallets for women are chic and reasonably priced — generally $25 to $50.

Does it Have to be Leather?

Leather can be luxurious, but you may want to opt for something in nylon, or even canvas, recycled rubber or hemp. An organic cotton may be a perfect “green” choice and right for vegans, but probably will not hold up over the long term. However, shop around, and you will find that both leather and alternative materials come in a wide range of colors, patterns, shape and sizes.

For many of us, our wallet holds our life. When looking for womens wallets, choose a few that match your needs and your personality. Have fun with it!
